Help Tony & Family with Expenses
Donation protected
Please help me, help Tony – one of my top employees and my friend. I'm seeking to raise $10,000 to alleviate his family's overwhelming burden while Tony recovers from extensive injuries sustained through a tragic accident. For every dollar raised on this GoFundMe page, I will personally match the donations, dollar-for-dollar, up to an additional $10,000.
Tony is 35 years old – selfless, kind and passionate about life. Tony is a strong, hard-working man that works a physical job and is 100% commission. He is a leader on his team and in my company and he is loved by his family and coworkers.
In Jacksonville on the night of June 20, 2018, Tony SantaCasa stopped on his way home to help a stranger change a flat tire. While performing this act of kindness, a distracted driver hit and totaled Tony's truck, ran over the couple Tony was helping, as well as running over Tony himself, dragging him another 20 feet before stopping. After being rushed to the hospital, Tony was in the ICU clinging to life, having lost over half his blood and sustaining many life-threatening injuries. To date, Tony is still in the hospital's ICU and has been on a ventilator since his arrival. He has only just begun the arduous battle through the first set of many surgeries it will take to restore his body.
I am Dustin Doll, Tony's CEO and friend. I have created this GoFundMe to overwhelm Tony and his family with your generosity. Your kindness through a donation will help Tony with his medical expenses while he begins his long recovery and ease the burden of his living expenses while he is recovering. I'm seeking your help to raise $10,000 to alleviate his family's overwhelming burden. Again, for every dollar raised on this GoFundMe page, I will personally match the donations, dollar-for-dollar, up to an additional $10,000.
As I mentioned, Tony's injuries are extensive – fractured frontal sinus, eight broken ribs and is on a ventilator with a collapsed right lung with three chest tubes and a left lung with one chest tube, open pelvic fracture, fractured hip socket , torn bladder, bruised adrenal glands, torn ligaments in right knee, blood clot in right leg and pneumonia.
To date, Tony has had many surgeries: 1.) Emergency surgery to stop internal bleeding, put in a suprapubic catheter in his bladder and external pelvic fixator. 2.) Repair his open fractured pelvis with two plates and screws holding the front of pelvis together and two big screws in the spine holding back of pelvis together and fixed torn bladder. 3.) Reopened his pelvis to clean out excess fluid and put in two drains. 4.) Tracheostomy so they can remove the breathing tube down Tony's throat. 5.) Peg tube in his stomach for liquid nourishment. 6.) Four bronchoscopies to clear his lungs of mucus.
Right now, the doctors estimate he'll require many additional future surgeries to continue repairing his broken body – repair fractured hip socket with molded metal plate screwed into the bones; knee surgery on Tony's right leg to fix torn ACL, MCL and ligaments on the inner side of the knee; restructure frontal sinuses; etcetera. In addition, Tony will need to undergo speech therapy to get his vocal cords working after being on a ventilator so long, occupational therapy and extensive physical therapy with non-weight bearing for a minimum of 3 months for his pelvic fracture and knee.
With his surgeries and extended hospital stay, Tony SantaCasa is taking the first steps toward a very long recovery and healing process. With your help, we can ease Tony's burden. Thank you for your graciousness in giving and restoring life in this great man. Thank you also for your many prayers for Tony's healing.
