Help me help my dad conquer afib!

Hi, my name is Ashley. I'm starting this fundraiser to help my dad lessen some of his stress from the unexpected and recent events.

For 20 years, he's had Atrial Fibrillation (aka afib), which makes your heart beat abnormally and causes you to have arrhythmias (abnormal heartbeats). On 6/17/22, he had surgery on his heart called Cardiac Ablation. This procedure scars parts of your heart that help correct arrhythmias in heart-related conditions such as afib. The surgery went well, and he came home that night. The following day, he had stroke-like symptoms, prolonged speech, and trouble concentrating on his words. Luckily, my brother was with him when it happened and could help get him into the car and to the hospital. He was admitted for observation and had an MRI the following day. He had a Transient Ischemic Attack (AKA TIA or a mini-stroke) a few days before his Cardiac Ablation surgery. He never showed any stroke symptoms until days later. Thankfully the MRI told us about his TIA, and we can do what is needed to help him get better. Unfortunately, he won't be able to work as a mechanic for about a month. It's not easy to focus on yourself and get better when your mind is on how things will be paid and taken care of when you can't work for the money yourself.

You can take the strength out of the man, but you can't take the man from his strength. There's only so much my brother, stepmother, and I can do along with family to help build his spirits. We are asking for some help to develop his spirits and not think so much about other things while he recovers and gets his strength back better than it ever was.
