Hi everyone. As many of you know my brother, know how much experiences we have shared before he moved to Mexico. Not once has he been the type to ask for help, but today we find ourselves in something so out of left field. He’s been bed ridden for the past 4 weeks. Trying to get better and not knowing what he has.
The Mexican health system as you’ve seen has been unreliable and incompetent in diagnosing and treating. At the moment this is all we have as an option due to funds. He has great support from all his co workers and his friends but it’s so hard to see him like this. (He’s had 4 blood transfusions, and the hospital requires him to have blood donors to replace the blood he has used.)
It all began with dengue, a mosquito bite found in sub tropical areas that causes you to be bed ridden for max 2 weeks along with a fever. We have been through two doctors in a Mexican hospital that is so far from the city, and it’s so difficult for everyone to come and donate blood. It’s been a month without working and has been hard on him and hard on the family he has made. I am currently here with him.
He’s been having on and off fevers thanks to the incompetent nurse that instead of inserting the IV on a vein, inserted it randomly on his arm. Ever since then, he hasn’t gotten any better. My brother has strength, a lot of it. We’re hoping that with these funds, we’re able to find a private doctor that can give him the treatment he needs.
From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for every dollar donation big or small. I know everybody is going through tough times, so every dollar we get we are ever so eternally grateful. May you and your family and friends be blessed in these hard times.
