Thank you for taking the time to read about the current events in the Alloway household and caring enough for their family to consider helping.
If you are here, you know Hayley and the gigantic heart she has. She goes out of her way to brighten a stranger’s day with a smile, offer a hug to a friend who is having a hard time, or drop everything to help you move or cook you a meal. She will move mountains to care for and love those near and dear to her and her family. Well, her family needs our help.
Quick backstory:
The Alloway clan are in Newfoundland, Canada so that Hayley can finish her PhD. She is a single mom of 4 who has been supporting her family while living in not only a new town but a new country many, many hours away from family and friends. She is working near full-time, finishing school, and caring for her kids with little to no time to spare. She is very soon reaching her deadlines for graduating and her immigration status expiration in Canada while attending her families growing needs.
Current situation and where we could use your help:
Nya has been diagnosed with Anorexia nervosa, which she has been struggling with since March with little support. Nya will not be receiving formal treatment for another 6-8 weeks due to a very long waitlist. We are hoping to help Nya receive help from a privately funded psychologist while waiting for her treatment to begin.
The funds raised here can also help support the family by providing healthy foods so that Hayley can spend more time supporting her children through this hardship, help Nya receive clothing that is of the proper fit for her current size and sensorial needs, and make up for lost wages as Nya can not participate in regular summer camps once school is out for the summer.
I am starting this GoFundMe without Hayley’s approval as she would likely tell me she is "fine". To be honest, with 2 kids in braces, impending student loans, being the only parent in the household with a very limited budget, having little outside support or extra money, I am unsure how "fine" I would be.
Please consider sharing a few bucks (or more) to help me help Hayley, Nya, Letta, Kal, and Grae feel our love and support. I cannot imagine how alone I would feel in just a fraction of what she is handling all the while smiling.
