I am Rosie Matthews, a student studying A Levels at Bassaleg School.

For one of my subjects - Welsh Baccalaureate - I need to carry out volunteering on a topic I am passionate about, which is homelessness.

I have chosen Eden Gate as the charity I want to work with as it will directly benefit homeless people in Newport and I feel that what they do as a charity is amazing!

More information about Eden Gate Newport: Eden Gate is a homeless charity that helps people with lack of resources. Eden Gate is different to many other homelessness charities as their aim is ‘inviting people in, helping people out’.

Not only does Eden gate help in the short term but their aim is to help people out in the long run too!

Eden Gate does this through different phases whilst partnering with churches, other professional agencies, third sector organisations and a number of key local businesses to deliver its life transforming services.

All money that is donated will be used towards buying items for Eden Gate that they put in their survival packs that they distribute to those in need. This will include items such as toothbrushes, underwear, deodorant etc.

I will be extremely grateful for any donations big or small.
