Hello every one
my name is Kirsty and any one who know me knows all my time ( apart form when I’m at work ) and my money goes on my animals
but for those who don’t know me let me introduce you to my heart horse charade she turned 20 this year.
I brought charade In 2009 as a 4 year old
not knowing how to ride
and even back then people said ooo you will have no money horses are expensive
well all good till 2017 when my not fat pony got laminitis by getting ems ( which is like some one becoming diabetic ) her body could not handle sugar any more and the sugar in The grass became to much for her and at the time it was out of my control as never knew till it was to late ☹️
laminitis is a foot crippling disease where the lamani in the foot separate
we battled through it 8 months and she became sound and apart from the odd abscess we were back to riding as her ems was controlled with sugar free feed no grass soaked hay and exercise
happy days
She had a few more problems feet related over the next few years but I won’t go in to them as I’d be typing for ever
But then like a kick in the teeth in 2022 she got diagnosed with 3 heart conditions 2 leaky valves a heart mermer and a irregular heart beat so i had to retired her for her safety and my own but this broke my heart
I then had to try to control her ems with out exercise which is very hard to do ☹️
the vet said her heart would not beat for much longer as at a stand still it beats like she has just raced the grand national and told me to prepare my self
But here we are over 2 years later and her heart is still beating But it’s now it’s Beating like she has won the grand national bless her
yet I’ve not seen any prize money
a few months ago she went lame In Both front feet so with out costing me x rays the only option my farrier could think of was to put clogs on her. I don’t get much change from £300 for 2 front shoes and she has now had 3 sets.
her last set tho things did not go to plan and 2 days of having them on she went hopping lame in her one foot
I had to bite the bullet and have emergency X-rays on both her feet and it’s not looking good she has very little sole between her bone in her foot and the floor but there is a shoe we can try and it’s £145 for just one foot
this happened in the other foot about 18 months ago and this shoe saved her life so in my heart I’ve got to try it or I would not forgive my self
but with all the X-ray costing me £300 as they were done as an emergency and the almost £900 on shoes In the last 18 weeks and now the £140 for the white shoe her pain killers every day and the full stable of concord ( which is bedding that’s is very kind and soft to her feet would recommend it to any horsey person ) I find my self struggling with finding money I dont want the reason I have to say good by to charade to be over the lack of money if I’m honest I don’t ever want that time to come but I know she has been on borrowed time for some time now but when that time has to come I want it to be when she tells me she has had enough and for now she has not she is such a happy pony who wants nothing more than to keep walking to the pub for Crisps and coke
I just find my self needing a little bit of help
And I’m gutted Ive even got to ask for it
if any one feels they could help charade even if it’s just £1 me and charade would be soooo greatfull to you
please help me to help charade
