Hey there! I'm doing a benefit concert on February 6, 2021 at 9am pacific time (12 noon eastern, 5 pm GMT), my first solo concert in two years and my first during lockdown - because we need a new furnace!
Our 19-year-old furnace has suddenly kicked the bucket, right as the temperatures are dropping here in Seattle. In the next two weeks there's some serious snow and ice in the forecast, and it's getting cold.
We got an estimate that says replacing our kaput furance will be around five grand - and while both my wife and I are grateful and lucky to have steady part-time jobs that we love, we have burned through our savings paying rent and bills during the lean months of the last year. We are caught with our pants down, so to speak, and it's chilly in the winter when you aren't wearing any pants.
We are making do with extra socks, sweaters, and a couple of space heaters that we move from room to room, but it's not enough for me, my wife Makaela, or my sons Arlen (4 1/2) and Rory (2 1/2) - we need a solution asap.
