I am a Retired Army Veteran who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in September, and my life has changed in ways I never expected. As I prepare for a stem cell transplant, I’m facing a long and challenging recovery. The process requires a dedicated caregiver 24/7 for the first 30–100 days of outpatient care after the transplant. This is crucial to manage my high risk of infection, monitor symptoms, and handle the many medications I’ll need. While inpatient care offers round-the-clock support, outpatient care means I’ll need a family member or caregiver to be with me at all times to ensure a safe recovery at home.
The financial burden of hiring a caregiver is significant, and it’s something my family and I can’t manage alone. Your support will help me hire the care I need to recover safely and focus on healing. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings me closer to a healthy future and eases the stress on my loved ones during this difficult time.
Your help would mean the world to me, and my family. Thank you for reading my story and considering a donation. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference in my journey to recovery.
