Hi, my name is Eden Blooms and I’m 32 years old. After a decade of living in relentless, invisible pain—seeing dozens of doctors, trying every treatment imaginable—I’ve reached the end of the road. I now face a major surgery: a hysterectomy, with possible bowel resection, gallbladder removal, and appendectomy. The surgery is set for Wednesday September 10th and my recovery time is until November 13th.

This isn’t just a medical procedure. It’s the loss of my ability to give birth. It’s the final chapter in a long, heartbreaking story of being dismissed, gaslit, and failed by a system that doesn’t listen to people with endometriosis.

Endometriosis is a disease that sits at the intersection of capitalism and sexism. It’s underfunded, under-researched, and misunderstood. We’re told it’s all in our heads. We’re told to “just have more babies”—never mind the ones we’ve already lost.

Over the past ten years:

- I’ve seen specialist after specialist.

- I’ve undergone test after test.

- I’ve tried every treatment across every discipline.

- I’ve begged for answers, for relief, for just one day without pain.

I refused to accept this as my fate for so long. But now, I have no choice but to undergo surgery that will change my life forever.

Why I’m Asking for Help:

I’m a public health practitioner, but due to recent policy changes, I’ve been out of work and unable to save for my recovery. I’ve received generous support from family, and I’ve created a detailed budget for my healing time.

My goal is to raise enough to:

- Cover post-op care and living expenses

- Invest in long-term healing (physical therapy, trauma support, acupuncture)

- Avoid rushing back into gig work before I'm physically able too.
