Help Me Graduate Med School After Wildfire + Tuition Error
Hi! I’m Kelly, a 28-year-old med student (pictured in the middle of my photo :) - who just finished four intense, beautiful, and humbling years at Chicago Medical School. I’m set to start family medicine residency back home in LA this June—but I’ve hit an unexpected roadblock.
Just weeks before graduation, I was told a clerical error left me a few credits short. I’m actively making them up now—but to finish, I had to enroll in a summer term that costs $5,000. It’s not covered by financial aid, and taking on more loans just isn’t something I can manage right now.
My family still hasn’t been able to return home after the Pacific Palisades wildfire displaced us earlier this year, and the financial and emotional toll of this year has been overwhelming. Between moving, wrapping up rotations, and trying to support my loved ones, I’ve been doing everything I can—but I need help.
Every dollar will go directly toward covering this final tuition charge so I can receive my diploma and start residency on time. If you’re able to contribute or share, I’d be deeply grateful.
Thank you for reading and for helping me cross the finish line.
With love,
Kelly
