Help me go to Mors Tua Vita Mea!
Donation protected
Hi friends/fam/fellow writers!
Earlier this year I learned of an incredible writer's workshop in Italy called Mors Tua Vita Mea , and I have just learned of my acceptance. Writing has always been a huge part of my life, though like many, I have struggled to do it regularly with a full time job and really miss the dedicated studio time to grow and become better. I have never been to Italy, have never done anything like this, and definitely did not think I would get into this program considering they only take 6 people per session. It would mean so much to me to be able to be in a space where my writing can start to grow and develop again! Any help at all would be appreciated a million times over.
While attending the Pratt Institute, I wrote my senior thesis on the relationship beyond memory in tribute to my grandmother and have two published chapbooks: Termites (BookWook Feminist Press Collective, 2015) and Wind Tunnel of Trash (ThistleMilk Press, 2015). You can find my senior thesis paper here and snippets of my junior and senior undergrad studio work here .
I am covering the airfare to Italy, but will need all the help I can get to cover the program's tuition ($2,900). This tuition will provide me with a place to stay, food, education and transportation, and will take place in early October. Full tuition is due September 5th, 2018. If donations surpass the tuition amount, all additional funds will be used towards further artistic development.
I hope to come back from this program a more humble and challenged writer and hope to share my new experiences when I come back.
NOTE: In exchange for donations $20 or more I would love to send you a short poem, personally written just for you! If you choose to donate anonymously please let me know so I can send you something in return as a thank you.
Thanks a million for giving this a read, for the support and please do share!!!
If I get to attend, it is absolutely because of your help.
