My name is Gabe Hetrick. I am 27 years old. I will be a student at Loma Linda University's Dental Hygiene school this fall 2020. For a couple years I have been looking forward to taking advantage of many opportunities that this school would provide for me to learn and grow in, both as a son of God and the most qualified health professional I can be. Then to help heal a world that is holistically more broken than ever before. I am grateful, excited, and now eager to work toward accomplishing these goals!
Some opportunities include:
- the school of dentistry at LLU
- mentorships (professional and spiritual)
- leadership positions such as one of three vice presidents in my class (outreach, connecting and planning with a team)
- connecting with others with similar goals and values
- mission trips
- weekly chapel and sabbath studies (Advent Hope church)
- intramural sports activities
The reason I am fundraising is- yes you guessed it, I am very rich and I could never have enough money. No, of course I am having difficulties coming up with the money to go. Although this is a very expensive school, I believe I am called to go even if that puts me in a large amount of debt coming out. Believe me that I would not be asking for your help if I did not need it. Unfortunately both of my parents are ineligible to cosign a private loan with me therefore interest rates are higher (roughly 14%) and financial aid was minimal.
My goal amount is above and is due September 24th which would financially clear me for the first quarter of school.
I am aware these are trying times for many of us financially whether going to Loma Linda University or, um, just living in general?- therefore please do not feel the need to give if you are unable. Although if anyone comes to your mind that has been extra blessed maybe you can share this link with them!
