HELP ME GO STUDY IN EARLHAM COLLEGE

My name is Wisdom Boinde, and I am from the Upper West Region of Ghana. I am a recent graduate of Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong. Through my passion for Physics and computer science, it is my dream to learn as much as I can to make my country and the world around me a better place.
Ghana is an amazing country. One whose community taught me that nothing in life comes without hard work and determination. Growing up in Ghana, I realized that to pursue my dreams, I needed to work extra hard and pray that my hard work takes me to where I want to go. Gaining a scholarship to Li Po Chun United World College was an exciting opportunity which opened the door commencing my journey to achieve my dreams. I had never dreamt that I, from a family whose financial status is "nothing to write home about" will get to leave my country to learn more from the world. The experience of studying abroad opened my eyes to the things I thought I could not do and I have come to strongly believe that I can make a difference in my country and the world around me through my strengths and contributions to society.
Gaining admission to Earlham college in the United States and getting a scholarship was a blessing to me. It put me on the right path to developing my skills and learning a lot about Physics and Computer science. Thus I see my self another step closer to realizing my dreams and potential. I was so happy that my hard work had paid off. However, despite gaining a full scholarship, the Scholarship package does not cover my transport and some spring family contributions. My family income makes it impossible for me to afford the extra expenses — a transport cost of about $2150 and a required family contribution of $650.
Faced with these challenges, I still believe that the financial status of my family will not be a limitation, as Kurt Hahn rightly puts it, " your disability is your opportunity." I am starting this fundraising as a means to fight my family's limitation and follow my dream of making Ghana and the world as a whole a better place through the knowledge I strive to gain and the contributions I can give to society.
I, therefore, appeal to anyone who is out there and can help me. Please help me to go to Earlham College by helping me cover my flight ticket and extra expenses. That is all I need to keep the fight for my future and that of my country going.
