Unfortunately my cancer has returned. On 11/08/2021, a new tumor was discovered during my regular MRI, as well as suspicious activity at the site of my old tumor. My oncology and radiology teams devised a plan to attack this new tumor.
The plan consists of chemotherapy for the next year. Incredibly, a drug that did not exist 4 years ago is now an excellent option for helping the chemotherapy attack this tumor. I will be taking this IDH1 inhibitor in addition to the chemotherapy. I will drive down to Boston for bi-monthly MRIs to check the progress of the two drugs as they fight the tumor and for my team to reassess the need for radiation treatment.
