Help Me Give My Son a Brighter Future

Update: Everyday my son Ryleigh does the same thing. He sits on the couch and watches pokemon. He's going into a depression, it's been a year now since he's been in a school setting. Hes gotten 0 services and that includes summer services. He sits home day in and day out with nothing to do it breaks my heart to see him so sad and so bored, all he wants to do is go to school, be around other kids, and have the opportunity to learn. Sadly that isn't happening :(

My son Ryleigh was kicked out of public school when he was only in the 4th grade. He then went to a Special needs day school. He really loved this school! After being there for 4 years this school kicked him out as well. Ryleigh was heartbroken. He then went to another Special needs day school as a temporary placement while I was working with the State of Vt to find him a residential placement.

After almost 2 years, We found a residential placement in NH that said they would take Ryleigh as a  student. My family was really hoping this place was going to be a  good fit for Ryleigh. After being there for only 5 months I removed my son from this residential facility. It was not a safe place for him. He had bruises on his back. One of the bruises was directly on his spine measuring almost 7 inches long. My son is nonverbal and there are no cameras at this facility so I will never know who hurt my son .

I brought Ryleigh home November 2021. We went back to the State of Vt for residential placement suggestions. We were given a few residential options but these places turned him down. All day schools including special needs schools have also turned him down.

Ryleigh doesn't do remote learning because of his "level" of Autism. He is "level 3" by the way and requires a 1:1 in all areas of life including school. All that's left to offer my son by the school district is 2 hours of tutoring. I really don't get how that justifies a full school day. This system is really messed up and unfair when it comes to kids with special needs.

My son Ryleigh sits home every day with nothing to do. He really loves going to school and being around other kids. Ryleigh has been home for almost 6 months now. He is getting restless and bored. He is very sad and lonely. Life is not meant to be lived within the same 4 walls of your life forever.

I have put together this GoFund me in the hopes of finding my son a really good and safe residential placement. Share the heck out of this! I am searching for the best residential school in New England. I need YOUR help to make this possible. I am also asking for donations of ANY amount. The money I raise will go towards any thing that Ryleigh may need to keep him happy while we are waiting for a school placement.

However, the main focus is to help me find a residential school for my son Ryleigh. Going to a residential placement will ensure him the therapy that he needs and it'll give him the chance to be around others besides his family. Hes a social person in his own way and likes being around people within a school/home setting. At this point it's not even about getting donations, but rather it's about getting my son the therapy, education, and future that he so rightly deserves. However if you do decide to donate It will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, now let's make this go viral! :)
