Hi, I’m Ruth, and on 15 August 2026, I lost my beloved mum, Pulcherie, after a devastating battle with the most aggressive brain cancer

My mum was so much more than my mother. She was my best friend, my home, my safe place and the person I could always turn to. We lived together for most of my life, and I saw her almost every day. Losing her has left a space in my life that I don’t know how to describe.

My mum has the most golden heart I have ever known. She approached everyone and everything with such a positive attitude, always choosing to see the good in people and in life. She was my rock and the strongest woman I have ever met. No matter what circumstances she faced, she never allowed them to tear her down or dictate the way she saw the world. Her strength, kindness and warmth touched everyone around her, and I feel incredibly blessed to have called her my mum.

I am only 21 years old, and after losing my dad and my sister in previous years, I am now having to face life without any of my immediate family. My mum was the last person I had.

Throughout her illness, I did everything I could to be there for her. I travelled back and forth to be by her side, brought her food, sat with her, did her hair, talked to her and tried to give her moments of happiness even during such a difficult time. I told her how much I loved her and how proud I was to be her daughter.

Now, I want to give her the peaceful and dignified burial she deserves.

I am currently not working, and the cost of arranging her burial has become an overwhelming financial burden at a time when I am already trying to process the loss of my mum.

I am asking for your help towards the cost of her burial, including the funeral service, burial plot and other necessary arrangements. Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean more to me than I can put into words. If you aren’t able to donate, simply sharing this fundraiser would help us tremendously.

I never imagined that at 21 years old I would be raising money to bury my mum. I wish I didn’t have to write these words, but I want to honour my mum and give her the farewell she deserves.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this, donate, share or simply keep me and my family in your thoughts and prayers.

With love,

Ruth ❤️
