Help Me Make My Grandma’s Dreams Come True ❤️

If you know me, you know how much my family means to me, especially my grandma. I never thought I would be writing something like this, but right now, all I want is to make as many memories with her as I possibly can.

My grandma has been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer, and her doctors have told us she may only have 6–12 months left. It’s something our family is still trying to wrap our heads around. It’s hard to even put into words how it feels knowing someone you love so much might not be here much longer. I wish more than anything that I could change things, but since I can’t, I want to do everything I can to make the time we have left special.

Four years ago, our family went through a heartbreak that changed us forever. We lost my mom, my grandma’s daughter, to stage 4 cervical cancer at just 38 years old. She was far too young, and losing her was something our family will never truly get over.

We know firsthand how scary, devastating, and exhausting cancer is. We know what it feels like to watch someone you love go through something so unfair and wish you could take it all away. We know the emotional toll it takes on the person who is sick and on everyone who loves them. We also know how important it is to make memories while you still have the chance, because those memories become some of the most precious things you have left.

Losing my mom created a shift in our family that is hard to explain unless you have experienced something similar. It changed the way we look at time, family, and the moments we sometimes take for granted. It taught us just how quickly life can change and how important it is to show the people we love how much they mean to us while they are still here.

Now, facing the possibility of losing my grandma, those feelings have come rushing back. We have already experienced the pain of saying goodbye to someone we love far too soon, and the thought of going through that heartbreak again is something none of us are ready for.

That is why I want to do everything I can to make my grandma feel loved, appreciated, and celebrated. I don’t want her to ever question how much she means to us. I want her to experience that love, make beautiful memories with us, and have things to look forward to while we still have this precious time together.

I don’t want to spend this time wishing we could do things but not being able to afford them. I want to make memories, take pictures, laugh together, go on adventures, and give her things to look forward to. I want her to feel how loved she is and know that we are doing everything we can to make this time as beautiful as possible.

My Grandma’s Favourite Holiday — Making Her Christmas Dream Come True

Christmas has always been my grandma’s favourite holiday. She has always gone out of her way to make it exciting and special for everyone. She puts so much love into the holidays and wants everyone around her to feel that Christmas magic. She is the kind of person who makes Christmas feel special, and this year, I want nothing more than to give that love right back to her.

Knowing this could be her last Christmas with us makes it mean so much more. I want to make it BIG. I want it to be a Christmas she will never forget. I want her surrounded by her family, with food, drinks, gifts, decorations, Christmas music, laughter, and everyone together in one place. I want her to be able to sit back, enjoy herself, and see all the people she loves most under one roof.

We are hoping to rent a hall for December 12th so we can bring everyone together for a really special family Christmas. We want to make it a day full of love, happiness, and the kind of memories we can look back on for the rest of our lives. We want pictures of everyone together, stories being shared, gifts being opened, and our grandma surrounded by the people who mean the world to her.

Unfortunately, my grandma lives on a low income, and our family is struggling financially as well. Renting a hall and paying for food, drinks, gifts, decorations, and everything else needed to make the day special is more than we can afford on our own.

I wish money wasn’t something we had to worry about during a time like this. I just want to give her this day and make it everything she deserves. She has spent so many years going out of her way to make Christmas magical for everyone else. Now I want us to come together and do that for her.

Any donations will help us cover the hall rental, food, drinks, gifts, decorations, and other expenses needed to make this celebration happen. Every little bit helps bring us closer to giving her the Christmas we have been dreaming of.

❤️ Making Memories While We Still Can

Another dream of hers is to take a fun road trip with all of her grandchildren. I want to help make that happen while we still have the chance. I want her to have those moments with us, to see new things, have fun, take pictures, laugh, and make memories that we can look back on for the rest of our lives.

After losing my mom, I understand how much you wish you could have just one more day, one more picture, one more conversation, or one more memory with someone you love. I don’t want to look back someday and wish we had done more when there were things we could have done with a little help.

I want my grandma to enjoy life as much as she can. I want her to have things to look forward to and to know that we are trying our best to make her wishes come true. More than anything, I want her to feel surrounded by love and to have beautiful moments with her grandchildren and family.

The Financial Struggles Behind It All

As a small business owner, work has been extremely slow, and I’m already having a hard time keeping up with bills and everyday expenses. With my grandma facing this diagnosis, I want to be there for her as much as possible. That may mean missing more work to take her to appointments, help with everyday necessities, spend time with her, and support her through whatever comes next.

Trying to balance everything financially while dealing with the emotional weight of knowing we may not have much time left together has been incredibly difficult. It’s hard to want to do so much for someone you love and feel like finances are getting in the way.

I never imagined being in a position where I would need to ask others for help, but the truth is, I can’t do everything alone. I want to be able to help care for my grandma, make her wishes come true, and spend meaningful time with her without constantly feeling torn between being there for her and trying to keep up financially.

I also hope to help ease some of the financial burdens our family may face after she passes. Losing someone is already heartbreaking enough, and I want to do what I can to help make things a little easier for our family while ensuring my grandma feels cared for and supported.

Any support will help us work toward these goals and give us a little more breathing room during one of the hardest times our family has ever faced.

️ Why I’m Asking for Help

I’m starting this fundraiser because I want to do everything in my power to make the time my grandma has left as beautiful, comfortable, and meaningful as possible.

After losing my mom to cancer, I know how much the memories you make with someone can mean once they’re gone. I know there is no amount of money that can bring someone back or give you more time with them. But I also know how important it is to make the most of the time you do have.

I want my grandma to experience the things she dreams of. I want her to be surrounded by the people she loves. I want to give her a Christmas she will never forget, a chance to make memories with all her grandchildren, and the peace of knowing how deeply she is loved.

I know I can’t change her diagnosis. I can’t promise her more time, and that is the hardest part of all of this. But I can try to make the time we do have count. I can help give her experiences to look forward to, moments to enjoy, and memories with her family that we will hold onto forever.

Asking for help isn’t easy for me. I wish I could do all of this myself, but I can’t. If you’re able to donate, any amount would mean so much to me and my family. Donations will help with the Christmas celebration, the hall rental, food, drinks, gifts, decorations, my grandma’s road trip dream, and the financial challenges we’re facing as we try to be there for her.

If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much. Every bit of kindness and support helps us get closer to making these dreams a reality.

I want to look back one day and know that we did everything we could to make her happy. I want to remember her smiling at Christmas, opening gifts, being surrounded by her grandchildren, laughing with our family, and feeling just how much she means to us.

We have already lost my mom, and we know how precious these moments are. We don’t want to take the time we have with my grandma for granted. We want to celebrate her, love her, spoil her, and make memories that will stay with us forever.

She has spent so many years making Christmas special for everyone else. Now I just want to give that magic back to her. ❤️

Thank you for taking the time to read our story, for sharing, and for helping us through a time when we need it most. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping us make these moments count.
