In 2019, my father was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. For years, he has fought with courage, faith, and strength. But today, his health has taken a devastating turn.

He is currently in the hospital battling a severe E. coli infection and other complications. His kidneys are failing, and doctors have told us that there’s nothing more they can do until the infection clears. If he recovers enough, they may try dialysis — but if not, we will have to make the heartbreaking decision to place him in comfort care.

While we hold on to hope, I am facing the reality that I may soon have to say goodbye to my father. The cost to lay him to rest is $54,000, and I cannot manage this alone.
