Help Me Give Moreo a Second Chance
Donation protected
Update 1: Moreo is back from the hospital now. According to my family there, he seems really tired right now, but he's doing much better overall. This is probably the first time he's gotten real sleep in months...
We just wanted to say, to all of you who have donated: thank you a million times over. This issue has put a lot of relational strain on our family and financial strain on me and my father. Your guys' generosity goes miles towards making sure that we will be okay as we work hard to give Moreo the comfortable life he deserves. Bless you all

Please, I need help paying the vet bill for a surgery on my family dog.
His name is Moreo. He is a 14 year old Shih Tzu/Poodle Mix.
I've had him for all of about 12 of his 14 years, and he's been the best dog I could've ever asked for; a complete sweetheart that would move and play when I did and huddle down to cuddle when I didn't. About a year and 8 months ago, I moved away from the family house to live alone with my spouse. I had to make the hard decision to leave him there for several reasons, including lack of space in the car we traveled in and, mainly, because I believed he would live out a good rest of his life in a safe and familiar place.
Over the course of the next year and three quarters, he was not being taken to the vet for check-ups at all. Among other pre-existing chronic issues and his age, he developed bladder stones that became big enough to endanger his life, to the point where he was constantly in pain. He needed an emergency surgery to avoid his bladder potentially bursting due to blockage.
He's had an operation to remove them, which will cost around $5000. My family held a debate on whether or not he should be put down over this price, as none of us really had the money for this. Despite us both going further into debt, my father (who does not live at the family house and not previously understood Moreo's circumstances there) and I stood strongly on being responsible for the bill with money we do not have. We believed Moreo deserved a chance, and that he still has years of good life he deserves to experience.
The surgery went well, and Moreo is currently in recovery. When he is in a good spot, I will either fly out to take him in or have him delivered to me. I will do everything I can to give my best friend the love and attention he deserves, and I won't have it any other way anymore.
The $5000 will be financed between the two of us, but we have other debts and financial responsibilities accumulating on top of this issue, as well as more serious vet expenses to come. My spouse and I are dedicated to giving Moreo the medical attention he needs more than ever. We would be forever grateful for any amount of help anyone can offer us in this time of need.
Thank you for taking the time to read this,
