Hi, my name is Rebecca and I’m a volunteer rehabber with Manchester Pigeon Rehab, a small grassroots volunteer group based in Manchester that rescues and rehabilitates injured, sick, and orphaned pigeons and doves.

I became involved in pigeon rescue in 2024 after finding a tiny baby pigeon on my doorstep. I had no idea what to do, but thankfully I found Manchester Pigeon Rehab. They saved that baby’s life and eventually released them into a flock. That experience changed everything for me.

I started out as a transporter, helping to move birds safely from members of the public to rescues and rehabbers. Over time, I trained and learned how to rehabilitate pigeons myself.

In 2025 alone, I rescued and cared for 42 pigeons and doves. Since 1 January 2026, I have already taken in 18 patients — 7 of them babies.

Baby pigeons are incredibly fragile and need consistent, controlled warmth to survive. Sick and critical birds also need stable heat to give them the best possible chance of recovery.

This is why I urgently need to purchase a medical-grade incubator. An incubator will:

* Provide precise, consistent warmth for orphaned babies

* Stabilise critical patients

* Dramatically increase survival rates

* Allow me to give each bird the highest standard of care possible

Every life matters. Pigeons are often overlooked, but they are intelligent, gentle birds who deserve compassion and a chance to heal.
