Hi, my name is Ree, I’m 26 years old and I’m fundraising to help me get transgender healthcare.

As most people now know, I identify as a transgender man. I have been openly identifying as this for roughly 4 years now, although I knew long before that.

A few years ago, I tried this whole GoFundMe thing, but I ended up deleting the fundraiser due to it not being very successful and also feeling a bit silly.

However, I am now making it my mission to try my damn hardest to get the healthcare I need and deserve.

I’m not going to sit here and tell you a big sob story, but I will tell you this. Transgender healthcare is very important to me and it can save lives. I am on the NHS waiting list however I could be waiting as long as 5 plus years just for an initial appointment… that would make me 31.

I have set my fundraiser goal at £5,000. This is an approximation based on different factors such as differences in costs, depending on different clinics and also whether I chose to get certain treatments in the UK or outside the UK (top surgery).

The costs will cover initial assessments, follow-up appointments, monthly hormone therapy, blood tests, and top surgery. I will not be looking at bottom surgery until a later date.

I will also be doing things to contribute to the costs myself, such as putting my wages towards it, looking into a fundraiser and selling my unwanted items on Vinted!

I will be extremely grateful for any donations I get through this, I’m not expecting much but it’s worth a try, ey!
