Hello everyone! I am starting this GoFundMe campaign to help get me to the Vermont Studio Center in March of 2020 for a month-long residency. After applying and being denied, this time around I have been lucky enough to have gotten accepted. Knowing it would cost some money to attend I thought the financial aid they offer would be enough to cover it and only leave a small amount on my end. Once I received my acceptance letter, just the other day, I came to realize it costs more than I expected even after receiving the maximum amount of funding they were able to provide per one person. The reason I am posting this now despite the holidays being right around the corner is that my downpayment is due this coming week and full payment is due by mid-January. So the deadline for payment is a bit tight.
In the past weeks, I have also lost my job leaving me virtually incomeless. With being laid-off and being accepted to this residency I wanted to see if I could make my art practice my main source of living. The cost of the residency is a few thousand dollars for the month-long stay. With the funds accumulated via this campaign, I would be able to put them towards the initial cost to attend, gas/tolls for the drive there/back and also supply to make work while there. Being able to attend this well-respected residency would greatly impact my practice and expand my experiences with the chance to work alongside like-minded individuals for a month with the only focus being making art.
For those who know me directly know how passionate and committed I am to my work and how it is my main love in life. If you are able to contribute at all it would be greatly appreciated and anything will help. Below I listed out some giveaways for contributors of certain amounts. I thank you all ahead of time for taking a moment to read this and or donating towards my goal.
