Hi, my name is Andy Holladay and I privileged to have been selected to represent Great Britain for my age group at this year's World Championships in the sport of long distance duathlon.

The past few years have seen me gaining in strength, speed and my self-belief, overcoming immense challenges in my personal life. Throughout all these challenges, my commitment to fulfilling my potential hasn't faltered. I want to be a role model to my kids, my community and do myself proud. I'm asking for your help to enable me to do this.

This race will see me giving my all in Zofingen, Switzerland, and competing against some of the best athletes in my age group in the world over a gruelling course of 10 km running, 150 km cycling, followed by a 30 km run.

It has long been a dream of mine to compete in this event and I am proud of how my training and competing has been going. I've recently placed third in the world in the Middle Distance duathlon championships at Alsdorf (over a slightly shorter 10km, 60 km, 10 km!), and I won my first ever event outright at the recent Castle Series duathlon at Cholmondeley Castle.

I am asking for help to cover the costs of travel and entry to this fabulous race, and am immensely grateful to all who give their support to enable me to follow my dreams!
