Hi, My name is Destiny Ogali and I am raising funds for my journey to the 2028 Summer Olympic Games. I’ve been competing in athletics properly since 2017. I started off playing football locally then after the encouragement of my school teachers at Longdean School in Hemel Hempstead I decided to take up athletics. Longdean were always and continue to be so incredibly supportive of my athletic journey. I am very grateful for the impact that they have had on me. I would never have been at this point to even consider wanting to be an Olympian if not for their constant encouragement. Soon after, I joined Dacorum Athletics Club who have been a huge help to me in my athletics journey since starting out. The club gave me the support and platform to grow and learn as an athlete. A lot of my early success has come as a result of their efforts to aid me in my endeavours. Since then I have had the amazing opportunity to compete regionally, nationally and internationally. In 2018 I had my first breakthrough season in the 100m & 200m where I finished ranked UK Number 1 & 9 respectively whilst winning 2x Silver Medals at The English School National Championships. From then on I was fully invested in the sport. The following year in 2019 I had my first taste of International Athletics where I received my first Great Britain international vest as an U20 after winning double Gold at the English School National Championships. I represented Great Britain in the 4x100m & 100m at the Manchester International where I ran a Personal Best of 10.61 and won a bronze medal in the 4x100m relay.
Since then I’ve also gone on to represent the England Senior team in 2021 in the 4x100m & 100m at the Loughborough International and Great Britain once again at the European U23 Championships in Estonia. For a number of years I was also a part of the Great Britain Futures Relay talent programme, England Junior Talent Programme and Athletics Academy Of Sporting Excellence ran by British Athletics.
My current Personal Best times are 10.45 in the 100m, 21.55 in the 200m & 49.96 in the 400m.
Since the start of this season I have been training with 7:10 Athlete Training run by Coach John Garner. I am now apart of an amazing community that continually support, uplift, encourage and inspire me to be better. Everyone is so caring and supportive of me and my journey and I’ve truly loved being around such incredible people. I learn so much from the people in this community and I hope to be a help and support to all of them also in their journeys as they have been so incredibly valuable to mine already. I’m so grateful to have access to such incredible coaching and opportunities.
One of the hardest jumps to make as an athlete is the progression from junior to senior. The success I’ve had as a junior athlete have been great but now I have my eyes set on bigger things. The Olympics has always been a goal for me since I started taking athletics seriously. Back in 2019 I wrote down all of my goals within the sport that I’d be looking to achieve.
I’ve only recently turned 24 so I know that my best years are still ahead of me which is why I’m looking to take this risk and go for it. This is my dream! I want to look back and know that I gave it my all!
The funds that I receive would be used to fund my training, competitions, warm weather training camps, supplements, kit, travel costs, treatment and physiotherapy and any other track related expenses that I may encounter over these next few years.
Please note that the funds I am raising are to cover the next 2+ years of costs. I am looking to raise 30-40k to cover everything in the lead up to the 2028 Olympics.
Your support truly means a lot.
