2025 update! This summer, I was invited to a 37 day white water canoe trip in the Canadian wilderness.

It's a big financial commitment, like last year, and I'm hoping my community can help me raise half. To raise my half, I'm starting a business to help support this trip, and will be giving 15% of the profits to YMCA Camp Widjiwagan to make sure their programs can help other kids connect with nature. Hi, my name is Evangeline, and I'm raising funds for a month-long canoe trip in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA). This is an invitation-only experience put on by the YMCA Camp Widjiwagan in Ely, Minnesota. The total cost of the trip is $4,500. Wow, that's a lot! So, I am asking my community to help me raise half.

The BWCA is my happy place, untouched forests and lakes for miles in northern Minnesota. And while traveling through any of the 1,200 miles of canoe country is a paddle-as-you-cry kind of challenge, it’s so beautiful it makes all the hard parts worth it.

Nature is my truest love, and I’m always trying to spend as much time as I can with it. I’ve hiked all over Minnesota, going on road trips to find even the most remote state parks (54 Minnesota State Parks so far!). Being with nature teaches me so much about life – how to work with myself and others, how to have patience in tough times, and how to keep going even when I don’t think I can go any further.

The BWCA has helped me find my voice, made me into a stronger leader, and helped me realize the necessity of protecting these magnificent wild places.
