Hello everyone! If you don’t know me, my name is Nissa and I am a ballet dancer working towards my goal of being in a professional company. Besides my year round training in which I am currently undergoing at The Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C, it is just as important for serious dancers to continue their training during the summer. This summer I am incredibly honored and excited to be attending the Royal Ballet School in London. This summer will not be my first time at this amazing school. In summer of 2019 I attended the school and absolutely fell in love with the training and atmosphere that the school provided. Additionally, I was honored with the achievement award after the first program. Since the age of 14, The Royal Ballet has been my dream company to dance in. It is among the best in the world and I want to do everything I can to work towards this dream. That means showing my face there as much as possible and showing the school how much I love learning there!
Unfortunately, the pandemic has been a setback for my family financially, as it has to many others. Traveling to Europe and paying to go to such an incredible ballet school is a lot for my family to cover by themselves at this time. But now that the world is getting vaccinated, including me, it is so important for my future that I am going to these kinds of programs and putting my foot in the door is a step towards the future I work towards everyday. Because of my age, this is my last year to be able to attend this program so therefore it’s even more crucial for me to utilize this opportunity. Anything you can give to help me along my journey would be greatly valued. If you are curious where exactly your donations are going towards, below I have broken it down.
