Help Me Get to Paris City Fashion Week 2025!

Hi there!

My name's Lucy; I'm an Oji-Cree member of Berens River First Nation residing in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I've had the pleasure of modelling casually these past 6 years, and I've been presented with the incredible opportunity to model at the Paris City Fashion Week event in March 2025 for NWT designer Willow Crescent by Dorathy Wright.

My one major hurdle is funding. Many Indigenous designers in the fashion industry are still up-and-coming, and are unable to cover travel and accommodation costs for models. With that, my goal is to raise $7,000.00 by mid-February 2025 to cover my flights and accommodations, as well as local transportation and food costs while I'm there. I'm anticipating the trip to be around 5 or 6 days in total.

This may seem like an entirely selfish endeavor but please hear me out. The North American fashion industry has seen a surge of Indigenous talent, and they're now finally beginning to get recognition on a global scale. As a model, I want to support Dorathy Wright, and other Indigenous designers like her one day, by being a part of her roster and showcasing her designs to the world beyond our borders.
