Help me get to my son's ICU bedside in Charlotte

My name is JT Williams.

I humbly ask for your emergency financial assistance for travel, room and board from Pensacola, Fl to Charlotte, NC. As many of you already know from following our posts on social media, My son, Jesse James, is in the ICU at Novant Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. He's been hospitalized since 1/18 due to complications from covid.

This morning I received a call from my daughter-in-law, informing me that the restrictions that were in place preventing me from being at my son's bedside has lifted, and that I should make my way to the hospital asap.

Jesse is a 38yr old, retired Air Force veteran, a husband to an awesome wife and a wonderfully dedicated father to my 4 beautiful grandkids (4 grand daughters and my 4yr old grandson) . Not only has he been a talented counterintelligence professional in both the USAF and the private sector. He's a pretty decent drummer to boot.

But most importantly, to me anyway, this awesome, incredibly dedicated, and talented man is my boy.

I'm not "medical term" savvy. But basically this is what I know of his current status. He's critical. He has a blood clot in his heart. He was on blood thinners to break up the clot, so he could qualify for ECMO. However the blood thinners have been stopped due to internal bleeding, they have not found the source of as of yet. His kidneys are failing so this am, they put him on CRRT dialysis. He has two tubes inserted into his chest to relieve pressure. On top of all this, he suffers from PTDS caused by his days of service in the Air Force. Things look grave. But we're still holding on to our faith.

I HATE asking for money. But know that this 5k amount is just an # I've pulled out of the sky. I have no idea. I just know I should plan for several days in Charlotte, and get there, from here (Pensacola, Fl area) as quickly as I possibly can.
