I am raising money for myself to cover travel expenses for a crucial medical consultation in Chicago. My insurance unexpectedly canceled my cab ride and made it clear they would not reimburse me for gas or mileage, leaving me to pay out of pocket for this trip. Even when I asked about doing the consultation via telehealth, my insurance refused to cover it, so I have no choice but to travel from southern Illinois to Chicago on my own dime.

I have saved up $500 on my own but I believe it will cost more do to the rising price of gas in the area

This trip is important to me, and getting help with gas and travel expenses would make it possible. The stress of figuring out how to afford this journey has been overwhelming, especially after my insurance let me down. I’ve had to ask an extended family member in their 60s to drive me, and it’s an over 8-hour round trip for both of us. Some people brought up Maybe I can do tele-health instead of going to them. I talked to the clinic about this and they said do to they MUST get vitals it has to be an in person visit for my Insurances to cover the visit.

Some people are accusing this of bring fake and says I do not need the amount I am asking for to make the trip. Last trip I took that was over 4hrs took over $1000 in gas. I personal do not know how good on gas the car we will be using does. And 2nd of all Price of Gas in IL is high around Chicago and this is a round trip there and back. Some people have said that the doctor visit is not real so I have uploaded a picture proving the visit is very real The only thing removed is the Doctors Name.

As of March 2nd I have raised $600 Outside of GoFundMe each time I raise money outside of GoFundMe I will lower the amount I need. Thank you
