Help Me Get to My Kautex Textron Internship in San Antonio!

Hey everyone, this is Amarion, I hope you’re doing well and staying blessed!

As many of you have known for a while, I am pursuing my Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Oklahoma, only one more year! I wanted to share something that’s been on my mind. I’ve been given an incredible opportunity to intern with Kautex Textron this summer, which is a huge step forward in my journey, but I’ve hit a financial hurdle that could make or break my ability to be there.

The company offers a $2,500 stipend for the internship, which I’m incredibly grateful for, but unfortunately, that amount doesn’t fully cover housing costs in the area. Total housing runs between $2,800 and $3,000, and that doesn’t even include my regular monthly bills I’ll still be responsible for while I’m there. I’ve looked at Airbnbs, but they require a large deposit anywhere from $900 to $1,000 just to reserve a spot and that’s simply not possible right now.

At this point, my only real option seems to be staying in UTSA housing, which is about 45 minutes from the site , not ideal, but I’m doing what I can to make this work. I truly believe this internship will be a meaningful investment in my future and open up doors for me down the line.

If you’re able and willing to support me financially to help bridge this gap, it would mean the world. I’d even be happy to pay the money back after my internship ends

I’m not looking for a handout, just some help getting through this tight moment so I don’t have to miss out on something I’ve worked so hard for.
