Help Me Get to Massachusetts to Say Goodbye

Hello everyone,

I recently received the heartbreaking news that a man who has been a father figure to me for over 30 years has passed away today.

As many of you know, Jamie Purdy and I have been not only been best friends but more so like family for over 3 decades and during that time- I gained a second family and sisters because she was gracious enough to share hers with me- even on the days they didn't want me...

With this came a man- the only man I truly called Dad for the past 30 plus years. He treated me like family long before I ever knew what true family meant and was there for me when he never had to be. Losing him has left an emptiness in all of us I can’t put into words.

His funeral will be held in Massachusetts, but I live in Minnesota, and unfortunately, I don’t have the financial means to make the trip after just losing my job in September. I have put all of my money/savings into keeping my house, Mom and animals taken care of, and after just purchasing a car that also is in the works of being fixed. I am supposed to start my new job at UPS on November 3rd which will now have to be put on hold.

I want nothing more than to be there to honor his life, support the family, and say my final goodbye as I was not able to be there when my second Mom Cindy died not long ago. This is a moment I will never get back, and missing it would weigh heavily on me forever.

I am humbly asking for help with transportation and travel expenses to get me to Massachusetts for the service. This will also help me to take care of necessary costs for myself while I am gone from home. Every contribution — big or small — will help me get one step closer to being where I need to be to properly grieve and pay my respects and be with the only family I have ever known who need me right now as much as I need to be with them.
