I'M BACK!

Hi. I'm Deb. I am trying to get to Japan (after 20 years!) to see my son, Isamu, his new wife, and their first child due in February. I'm also hoping to see my dear friend who lives not far from them, and who was diagnosed with cancer recently. A triple whammy. I need airfare, living expenses  for there, and money to cover costs here at home while I'm gone (am going for 2 1/2 months). All told, I hope that $6000 will cover my costs.

 

I am certainly not the only person who hasn't seen their child for over 2 years because of the pandemic. Nonetheless, given that Isamu is going to be a father soon and that my friend is sick with stomach cancer, I feel it is imperative I get over there as soon as I can.

 

I have cleared the hurdles with the Japanese Consulate re visa. I have a house sitter. All that's left is purchasing my ticket (crazy expensive--especially since I'll be flying to Fukuoka which is in Kyushu, far from Tokyo) and finalizing plans for care of my father while I'm gone. Full disclosure: due to my own myriad health issues, I need to fly premium or business as the flight could take over 35 hours with multiple layovers.

 

The baby is due Feb 1. I plan on leaving mid January and returning mid March. My friend's surgery (if surgery is even a possibility) will probably be sometime in December.

 

So. As I do not have a paying job (again, due to my myriad health issues), I would tremendously appreciate your help asap! Thank you.
