I have been passionate about competitive cheer since I was 8 years old, and this year, my dream came true when I was asked to join a Worlds team. The opportunity was so exciting that I moved from South Dakota to California within just a few days to make it happen. While I am incredibly grateful for this chance, the transition has come with unexpected financial challenges. Gas prices in California are high, and I need to drive to my gym 5-6 times a week for practices. Even though our team qualified for a Paid BID to Worlds, there are still extra costs involved, including hotel stay, airfare, coach fees, and food expenses.
