Help me get thru my Cancer Treatments

UPDATE - Thank you everyone who's donated so far! If you're still paying attention to this fundraiser and would like to help, let a friend or family member know, I appreciate and love you all for your help.

Hi everyone, thanks for taking a look at my page, whether you are able to help me or not, I appreciate you for just taking a look.

My name is Brandon, on my birthday last year (May 31st), I was told I had a lump in my neck during a doctor's visit. Came back that I had Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma. It took a bit, but I was finally able to get surgery done on October 23rd. That first surgery didn't turn out so well, the surgeon said this was the most complex thyroidectomy he had ever done and had to stop halfway through because we were well passed how long it should've taken. December 7th was surgery two, which went a lot smoother, they were able to get the rest of the cancer and my other thyroid. After surgery care is generally just a Radioactive Iodine pill (RAI). Talking to the radiologist, his concern is that I have a BRAFV600E genetic mutation. This mutation can cause cancers to grow more quickly than they should. To combat this, on top of the RAI, I need get radioactive beam treatment, a focused beam on my neck every weekday for almost two months. With RAI only my cancer free rate would be 40% within 5 to 10 years. Both treatments bring me down to 5% within 5 to 10 years. So no question, I have to do this.

And this is why I'm here. I have a solid job, good benefits, but life stuff happens. 2019 my girlfriend was diagnosed with cancer herself. A year later, my mother passed away and a week after that, my cousin passed away. In 2022 my father broke his arm and on my way to him, I got into a car accident because a work truck ran a red light. Two weeks before my first surgery, my father has a heart attack, he's doing ok now, still recovering. But all the stuff that's happened over the past few years has taken a toll on me and my sick leave. I knew going into it, I'd have to ask my co-workers for leave donations, which, amazingly enough, some of them were able to help me with. But even now I've come up short, this last week is the first where I've gotten only half a paycheck, which was immediately used on medical bills, credit card bills and groceries. I've still got mortgage and utilities at the end of the month, and more medical bills incoming with both radiation treatments.

I didn't expect myself to ever use GoFundMe to ask for help. It doesn't feel right, not being able to take care of things on my own. I haven't been able to sleep, and I'm at my wit's end, I don't know where else to turn to, my girlfriend has been helping as much as she can, but she has her own set of bills and has already taken a lot of time out of her work for me, all while still taking care of her daughter.

So I'm asking, if anyone has the extra money to donate and help get me and mine, through the next few months so that I can return to work with a clean bill of health, I would greatly appreciate it and you would mean the world to me.

Below are two pics of me after each surgery and my left and right pathology comments.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

And again, thank you very much for taking the time to read all of this and donating if you're able to.
