Help me get through to my new normal

Hello Everyone,
It has taken almost everything out of me to make the hard decision to reach out for help. In today’s day and age, the cost of living is so incredibly high, go and add ongoing health issues and not working while continuing to be diagnosed with numerous illnesses…we end up here.

Back in August of 2022 I took a fall which lead to nearly 3 years of being in an unruly amount of pain. I have had 2 pretty major surgeries on my elbow, with my last surgery being in November of 2024.

About 3 weeks prior to that second surgery, I was unfortunately diagnosed with a benign pituitary brain tumour, Macroadenoma Prolactinoma, the size of a large green grape. I was put on a medication which was supposed to bring my prolactin levels down and shrink the tumour. I had the misfortune of experiencing the worst side effects that made me very sick, throwing up almost daily. I tried my best to stick it out but ultimately, it wasn’t going to be sustainable long term. I have dropped 45 pounds since November due to horrible appetite and feeling so unwell. I am currently awaiting surgery to remove the tumour sometime in the next 4 months.

I did end up having complications with my last elbow surgery and ended up with an infection which required IV antibiotics. The infection was treated and we thought I was on the road to true recovery. I unfortunately continue to struggle with my left elbow and my doctors didn’t know what the next step was. Bring in my new dermatologist who decided to test me for Lupus, an auto immune disease. After 18 lines of blood work, and 4 skin biopsies, I have been diagnosed with Amyopathic Dermatomyositis and we are waiting for the rheumatologist to confirm if I actually have 3 auto immune diseases at once. I have started medication for it and we will see if that med in that dosage will be suitable for me.

While all of this was happening, my dog, in the picture, ended up having a abscessed canine tooth which he required surgery for. He did well and was on the rod to recovery when he had a seizure which set him back a week and a bit. He is mostly recovered but now gets tired very easily. My bank account took a pretty big hit to get him healthy again.

If you can even share this to get it in the hands of people who can help, I would be forever grateful. At this point, anything helps. Please know that I did not come to this decision lightly, I’m the helper…I hate asking for help. If you got this far, thank you for your support!
