Hi my name is Lisa, some of you know me as Mari or Maritza. I am 42 years old and was diagnosed with cervical cancer on October 6, 2022. I am a mother to 3 beautiful girls, who is the reason I’m fighting hard to beat this!! Treatments have been very hard, I am doing chemotherapy therapy, External radiation and internal radiation. The last few weeks have been the worst, I’m in a lot of pain, vomiting and diarrhea (sorry TMI) body aches and very fatigue. My husband has been my angel, he commutes to work, comes home drives me to my radiation appointment, comes home cooks and cleans and cares for our little ones so I can get some rest . On top of all that theirs laundry and everything else. I try my best to help but some days are worse than others. I know my hubby feels overwhelmed, he says no but I can see it. He’s also been having to take days off to care for me after my internal radiation. I’m unable to do anything for 2 days after procedure. The first procedure I had complications but thank God everything ended up being fine and I got to go home.

For the external radiation I have to travel to Modesto every day and for the internal radiation I have to travel to Santa Clara. It’s a lot. Plus gas prices don’t help.

on top of that I’m paying for medications and my radiation treatment was not covered due to it being done by another treatment center outside of Kaiser. I have the paperwork for proof of cost. I was taken off work since February 15th and I have not gotten my EDD yet. My husband is currently the one paying for everything and I hate to put our business out there but I don’t know what else to do. I never thought I would be making a go fund me. But here I am. We just need a little help at the moment. Even if it’s one dollar it will mean a lot to us.
