Hi, my name is Dave and I am coming here as a last resort. I’ve never been one to ask others for help in my life but I feel like I have no other option and am desperate.

I have been diagnosed with Lyme Disease and have been undergoing treatments for over 5 years now. Unfortunately none of it is covered by any benefits or insurance of any kind. I’ve already spent well over $50,000 on treatments and there is expected to be over $25,000 more coming, at the very least.

This disease has taken my life from me. I used to teach Phys Ed, play hockey 3-4 times a week and then go scramble a mountain on the weekend. Now I’m lucky if I can get through the day-to-day routines without collapsing. I want to get to the point where I can properly care for my daughter, my pup and my wife. However, fatigue, constant nausea, joint pain, brain fog/confusion, seizure-like “spells”, chest pains, blood pressure crashes, insomnia, chronic flu symptoms etc etc etc keep me from being able to be the dad and husband Ive always dreamed of being. I’m exhausted from the constant fight and my mental well-being is starting to not be able to keep up. I’ve always considered myself a warrior but 6 years of this has completely drained me.

The current treatments don’t seem to be working and I am desperately hoping to raise some money so I can seek some alternate routes. I’ve found a clinic that may be able to help me but the costs will be extremely large. I’ve already depleted our savings, sought loans and medical grants from the government and through the various Lyme Foundations. All to no avail.

If anyone has it in them to help me out you have no idea how much it would be deeply appreciated. Any amount will help. If you would be so kind as to forward this on to anyone who may be willing to help I would be forever grateful. I want to get back to the strong, energetic person I used to be and just be able to one day live a life free of this constant hell. Thank you very much!
