Hello, my name is Lucia (42) and I’m reaching out for your help. I’ve been living with endometriosis since I was 16, a condition that has deeply impacted my life. Over the years, this condition has taken so much from me — my health, my energy, and my ability to live without constant pain. I have already undergone three surgeries, but despite everything, my condition has continued to worsen. To make things worse, last year, I was diagnosed with adenomyosis and large fibroids—additional conditions that have made my health even more fragile.
Last summer, I nearly lost my life when I almost bled out and I wasn’t able to work for months. I survived, but only just. My doctors have made it clear that keeping the fibroid untreated puts me at serious risk of another catastrophic bleed. I was lucky once — I may not be lucky again.
I am currently waiting for another specialist appointment within the NHS. While the NHS is trying to find a solution, they have not been able to identify any treatment option that would not place me in a life-threatening situation, and they are unable to safely remove the fibroid. I am awaiting another consultation but time keeps passing, and my condition is like a ticking bomb.
After extensive research, I found a highly experienced specialist abroad who treats complex cases like mine. This specialist has offered a clear treatment plan involving three surgeries, which would give me the best chance at reducing pain, controlling the bleeding, and finally having a safer, more stable life for once !
Until now, I have paid for all treatments and medical help abroad myself. I have used all of my savings and taken out a £15,000 credit loans over the years to try to stay alive and keep moving forward and try to live my life :-). Unfortunately, that money has now run out, and I am no longer able to take on more debt.
The situation is urgent, and without this treatment, I can’t be sure that I’ll make it through the year without facing another life-threatening complication.
Without help, I simply cannot afford to continue treatment — even though it may be the only safe option for me.
I am not asking for luxury or comfort. I am asking for a chance at life, a chance to live without constant pain, fear, and the real risk of bleeding to death. Every donation will go directly toward the cost of surgeries, medical care, necessary travel abroad and any other associated costs.
If you are able to donate, share my story, or support me in any way, it would mean more than I can put into words. Your kindness could help save my life and give me the opportunity to finally live with less pain and more hope.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading and for standing with me during this fight.
