Thanks for clicking on the link! My name is Theo and I'm a full time student and a part time bartender.
I’m raising funds for a necessary medical procedure that unfortunately, due to extremely long NHS waiting lists, I need to undergo privately. This surgery is technically not too urgent, however it is to correct a long-standing physical condition that I have had since I was a teenager, and would free me from daily pain and discomfort. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, I am unable to disclose the exact purpose of the surgery and must keep most medical specifics private, although if you are a close friend, family or have known me before 2020 you will know what the procedure is for.
This surgery is vital for my long term health and would improve the quality of my life an overwhelming amount. I’ve been trying to save here and there, but as I have been a student all of my adult life (apart from a gap year I took due to homelessness) it has been really difficult doing so. The procedure would take place in Manchester and it costs around £10,500 (includes £500 deposit). The cost of the consultation is affordable so I will not need help to cover this :) I may choose to pay in installments as part of a finance plan, it can be split as 6, 12, 24 or 60 monthly payments. Ideally I will not want to do this, but in a case where I have to, I would opt out for the 6 monthly plan.
After the surgery, I would need to be in hospital recovering for a day max before being discharged, and afterwards I will need to stay in England for an additional 10 days once surgery is done to rest, before being permitted to travel back to Scotland. Part of your generous donations will go towards the accommodation (around £150 for 10 days), travel (around £100) and the surgery referral letter (£185) for this procedure. I have loads of fundraising events planned to help cover the costs of this surgery as well!! So if you can't donate at this time, it would mean a lot if you kept an eye on my social media for any of my fundraising events that you are able to attend in Glasgow :)
I am grateful for every single penny that people contribute to!
Thank you for reading.
