Help Me Get Restorative Post Weightloss Surgery

Hi everyone,

My name is Sammy. I am 32 years old and I have always struggled with my weight. Ever since I was a young child I was overweight, and I have always struggled to get rid of the weight.

I had tried numerous diets over the years and nothing worked or stuck for me.

When Covid-19 hit I was at the heaviest I had ever been. I also struggle with GAD and Health anxiety - which was at an all time high during this pandemic. Not only did I believe I would die because of my weight, I thought I was die if I caught Covid because of my weight too.

That’s when I decided enough was enough and I asked for help. With guidance through my GP and some nutritionalists, psychologists and other practitioners, as well as my partner, I managed to lose over 40kg. This was done not through surgery, but through hard work and fixing my relationship with food.

After a year, I have lost this weight, but I am left with a lot of loose skin, which is a new body issue. I am grateful for being able to lose the weight, now I’d just like to be able to not have to cover everything up and live a normal life in a new body.

The NHS unfortunately do not offer this kind of surgery, and I could never afford it, so I thought there might be a small chance others might like to help.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read this. I am working on my body for me and my health - both mental and physical. And finally having a body I can stomach to look at would be a dream come true.
