It’s 4:30 AM and I have been trying all day and all night to come up with the words to explain why I created this fundraiser.

I’ve been living with untreated Binocular Vision Dysfunction (BVD) my whole life without knowing it. BVD means my eyes and brain aren’t working together the way they should. They’ve been compensating for years, but the compensation system has broken down.

I’ve run out of whatever was letting me push through all these years. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through physically and mentally. Five days ago, I went to urgent care because my symptoms were so severe.

Two days ago, I decided I’m taking my fucking life back because I can’t live like this anymore. So despite having only $2.76 to my name, I scheduled an appointment in Las Vegas to see a BVD specialist on April 30th.

I know scheduling an appointment 200 miles away from home that I can’t afford sounds insane, but the me that’s trapped in this body that doesn’t function right has been screaming for help. I’ve finally reached a mental point where I can listen to her and ask.

I need to raise $3,000 to cover the appointments, treatment, and micro-prism lenses I desperately need to start taking my life back.

I was laid off in January 2025 and have struggled to find work and pay my bills, and I’m now at the point where my symptoms are so bad that I cannot work. I also just found out my landlord is selling the house I’ve lived in for almost 10 years, so I have to move in the near future.

Any amount that exceeds the goal will go toward living expenses, pet care, etc.
