Help me get out of my moldy apartment

Greetings, friends, family, and benevolent strangers,

As some friends and family know, I have been dealing with mold poisoning from my apartment for several months now and have had a nightmare of a time getting my building to address this. The property management company has been very slow and combative with me and has threatened to charge me thousands of dollars for any mold abatement, even though I didn’t cause the problem. I also anticipate based on this that they will not give me back my security deposit, which makes moving that much more expensive without these much needed funds to put toward a deposit and first month’s rent.

This is all very terrible and I plan to pursue legal action, but at this point, I just need to get out of the apartment before I can do that, as continued exposure has made my already compromised immune system even worse, along with other symptoms such as difficulty breathing and allergy-like symptoms. My doctor also believes mold exposure may be a huge reason behind my debilitating fatigue, which has led to a huge loss of function in my daily life. It’s also been a fight to get treated for the mold poisoning with my insurance, which is why I continue getting worse in my current environment.

I’m reaching out to my community to ask for help with moving and treatment expenses so that I can get out of my toxic environment, treat my toxic body, and hopefully get some of my life back.
