Donation protected
Hi I'm James Beshore, I'm 25 years old, and i would love any help i can get to overcome Stage 3 brain cancer. I've had two brain surgeries but I am hoping to raise money for my radiation, chemotherapy and stem cell treatment i have to undergo. Im receiving radiation and chemotherapy in UCLA hospital and doctors recommend 30 sessions 5 times a week Monday through Friday for 1 month and a half. I’m staying with this wonderful family in LA El segundo and they have been helping me to get back and forth to my appointments. Unfortunately I have to go every day on work days which makes it hard to figure out how to get there and back. I’m going be getting Ubers back forth and on top of that paying everything that comes i between. It’s going be a hard next couple months physically and emotionally and all I want is to return to my wonderful life with my family and friends. Any donations helps, I appreciate you generously!
Full story :
Hi everyone, my name is James Luis Beshore, I'm 25 years old, born and raised in Costa Rica in a town called Los Pargos. My whole childhood I lived a very saturated and colorful life. Probably since I was born until I was an adolescent I lived a life most kids would dream of. I always kept myself active doing sports and physical activities such as surfing, soccer, fishing, spearfishing, skating, and baseball. My Grandfather Jerry Beshore, who helped raise me, was a bodybuilder throughout his whole life. He always kept me and the family eating as healthy as possible. So you would think a kid that kept himself so active and healthy during those years, with the help of his grandfather, would hit the transition from adolescence to adulthood in the best physical shape possible.
History of my condition:
The last 2 years I've been dealing with health problems and I just want my quality of life back to how it was. In February of 2022, I invited my friends over to make lunch. After I finished cooking for them, we all served ourselves food and when both of my best friends sat down at the table I was the last one to sit. That's when I had my first seizure and my dad called an ambulance that took me on a 2 hour drive to the hospital in Liberia (Costa Rica). They kept me for 15 days doing different tests, MRI's, and bloodwork. At day 13, the doctor explained the cause of the seizures which was a Tumor in my Right Frontal Lobe. The doctor told me that I needed surgery ASAP. My first surgery for my Tumor was removed in April 2022 at the Hospital CIMA by Dr. Xavier Gerardo Lang Serrano, who helped me along this difficult road. Dr. Lang explained that I was in stage 2 which wasn't agressive at the time and he recommended me to do radiation treatment or chemotherapy which was going to cost $25,000 USD. I was very scared to be dealing with this new chapter of my life and what was to come, to be honest I never thought I was going to need to learn about Brain Tumors and how to approach them with proper treatment and care.
After 8 months post surgery I started having seizures because I didn't do any treatment and no follow ups with my doctor. Irresponsibly thinking, I thought I was going to be 100% healthy and go back to a normal life. As time went by I started getting more seizures and my doctor would continuously increase the strength and dosage of my anti-convulsive medication.
I'm just going to be honest, I didn't do the best job at keeping myself disciplined with the illness that I have. From the begining of 2023 to 2024, I wasn't being the best version of myself, it eventually got to a point where my medication wasn't taking effect and I was sadly suffering cluster seizures. Afterwards, I went for an MRI and the Tumor turned from being stage 2 to stage 3. Sadly, it turned into a GLIOBLASTOMA.
Let me explain a GLIOMA so you can understand the seriousness of this. There is a huge difference between a GLIOMA and a GLIOBLASTOMA.
A GLIOMA is a tumor inside your brain that has 4 levels of severity. The first two stages (GLIOMAS) are benign which can turn to a malignant stage (GLIOBLASTOMA). That is what we are trying to avoid.
Stage 1 is benign and once removed easy to cure.
Stage 2 is different and the tumor is much more stubborn and very hard to kill or get rid of beause its not just a tumor sitting there, it's actually embedded in the brain and much more difficult to remove. The procedure for Stage 2 GLIOMA is to remove and kill residual toxic cells through Radition and Chemotherapy.
Stage 3 is now called GLIOBLASTOMA which is more severe and once it goes from stage 2 to stage 3 it becomes much more dangerous. In stage 3, it gets malignant and can move across the brain in just a matter of months! Even so, a lot of humans survive stage 3!
Stage 4 GLIOBLASTOMA is obviously the most severe and is usually End Game, but with mordern medical science and amazing medical neuroscience humans have and can defeat and heal from stage 4.
After my second surgery on July 15th, 2024 my illness went from Stage 2 to stage 3. My doctor told me the only way to get rid of it is by doing Radiation Treatment or Chemotherapy.
Dr. Francisco Guitierrez Duran told me 1 month post surgery to do treatment through our Costa Rican Medical Insurance but back home, I was told I would have to wait 5-6 months to start treatment and I was told that since I am a US citizen, health care up here would receive me and get the procces started for treatment faster than in Costa Rica. Although CR has one of the best medical systems in central america I was worried it would take too much time to get the treatment process started. So I quickly made the decision to leave my country, parents, friends, dogs and house to come to the United States and get everything in order to start the procces.
Now its been almost 4 months being here in California and I just started seeing the Neurologist, Neurosugeon and specialists. I will be receiving treatment starting November 11th going into December. Dr. Guitierrez highly recommended to do STEM CELL THERAPY after I finish doing radiation treament and chemotherapy. There's an option for me to recieve stem cell therapy in the states but its too expensive and not realistic for my situation. I talked to a Dr. back in San Jose where they have their therapy facility and it's a fraction of the distance and a fraction of the price. Pricing for treatment here in the USA is $5,000-$10,000 per treatment while back in Costa Rica it's $4,000-$4,500, which makes it a little more resonable. I was told by my Dr. that he recommended doing 2-3 sessions of stem cell to make sure I'd have my life back to normal and that way I would stop taking my seizure meds which have many secondary effects. Also, that way I can be in the comfort of my Familly and Friends while finishing up with stem cell. It's not easy being here by yourself, not having your family and close friends, and getting everything done by yourself. Thankfully, I've created solid friendships in my life up here that have helped me through all the procces. I want to fight this and beat it and have my quality of life back to normal.
Stem Cell Therapy is the reason why I'm creating this GoFundMe. With all the Love and Humanity and the Most High coming straight through my heart, I would be very thankful to receive any donations that can get me to my goal and bring my life back to normal.
Sincerely,
James
God is with us and , again,
By the grace of the Holy Father And Holy Son we shall be
a light in the valley of darkness!
