After getting out of prison, I spent three or four years homeless, living in my vehicle and doing my best to survive. I would park at job sites and in parking lots, just trying to get by. During that time, I was often woken up by police and received tickets for things like driving without a license, not having insurance, and failing to register my vehicle. In total, I’ve accumulated 16 tickets—not because I was breaking the law, but because I was homeless and trying to make it through each day.

Now, I’m proud to say I’ve been sober for over a year and am working full-time. My life has changed for the better, and I’ve recommitted myself to my faith and to helping others. But despite all my progress, I’m still struggling to pay off the fines and legal fees that have built up over the years. I’ve applied for a workmanship license but was told I didn’t qualify, and I’m having trouble getting rides to work. I just want to be able to drive legally and not worry about being arrested for simply trying to support myself.

The money I raise will go toward paying off my tickets and fines, hiring a lawyer to help resolve my legal issues, and hopefully buying a small moped so I can get to work without risking my freedom. I’ve come a long way in my recovery and in rebuilding my life, but I need a little help to finish what I started. Any support you can give would mean the world to me. Thank you and God bless!
