Hello all, I’m Steve, I’ve written loads of unpublished children’s books and now after years I’ve been offered a publishing deal, but like everything else these things cost money.

So here’s a little about me:

I’m a Stay At Home Dad, to a now 10 year old daughter, through her early years she was in and out of hospital regularly through the winter months up to a couple of weeks at a time. During that time when she was in hospital I’d make up bedtime stories to get her to sleep (as most parents usually do), I didn’t think much of it at the time, but one night at home, she wasn’t for sleeping at all, so we watched a spider walking up a door! From that we made up a whole little story, that story stuck with me through the night, so the next day I wrote it down. Following that I wrote down more little stories, some that I did little hand drawings with. After a while I had written 18 little books. Then put up a facebook page where others could enjoy them. But to be honest nothing much happened. Then recently something happened that made me look back on those books and re imagine them. After which I thought I might as well send a few drafts out to publishers and see what happens. Again not thinking much would follow, and with a couple of the books being rejected from one if the publishers, I sent a draft out of a totally different book that I’ve worked on thinking the same would happen again. But not this time, they liked it enough to offer to publish it.

so here we are, me asking kindly for any donation no matter how small, to help cover the cost to get “Set The Yawn free” published.

The book itself has gone through a few changes over the years, starting as a bed time story together little one to yawn and fall asleep, to being typed up on my phone, then forgotten about, then found again and extra verses added, then a basic sketch, to something a bit better done on my pc, to a near finished bedtime story. All the while being in digital format. And now we have a chance to get it in printed form of a hardback, paperback as well as e-book.
