Help me get my doctorate at USC!

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,
My name is Yesenia and I am a first-generation college student with an unwavering determination to make a difference in the lives of children through occupational therapy. I seek your support as I’ve recently been accepted into the USC’s Occupational Therapy Doctoral (OTD) program.
Life has presented me with its fair share of challenges. I grew up in a single parent household and have been on my own since I was 19. I’ve taken financial responsibility for my college education on my own and am now asking for help. Nevertheless, I have been determined to carve my path towards higher education. I’m a 2017 Pasadena High School graduate, PCC transfer student, a CSUN Cum Laude graduate and now a Trojan. As a first-generation student, every step I take is not only a milestone for me but also a testament to the endless possibilities that education can provide.
I currently work three jobs 7 days a week, as a lifeguard, swim instructor and an assistant at a pediatric ot clinic. Balancing these responsibilities with my academic commitments has been demanding, but my eagerness to achieve my goals fuels my perseverance.
However, as I prepare to embark on this transformative journey at USC, I am confronted with the daunting financial burden that comes with pursuing higher education. The cost of tuition, living expenses, and educational resources weighs heavily on my shoulders, and I humbly ask for your support. Your
contributions will be directly used to alleviate the financial strain of tuition costs, enabling me to focus wholeheartedly on my studies and career goals.
I am immensely grateful for any form of assistance you can provide, whether it's a financial contribution, sharing this campaign on social media, or offering words of encouragement.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and considering supporting me in achieving my dreams. Together, we can pave the way for a brighter future for countless children who deserve every opportunity to thrive.
With heartfelt gratitude,
