Anyone who’s lived in Los Angeles knows this truth: a car here isn’t a luxury — it’s survival. For the two years I’ve owned my car and lived in LA, it truly was my lifeline. Losing it created a ripple effect that’s hard to explain unless you’ve lived it here — missed opportunities, constant stress, and the way a few tickets or fines can quietly snowball into something overwhelming. In a city where one ticket can turn into ten problems, I’m choosing to resolve this chapter instead of letting it define me.
I now have the opportunity to get my car back through an auction on February 13th. There are multiple costs involved—auction fees, registration, insurance, and outstanding fines—which make it difficult to handle alone. Buying a new car isn’t realistic for me right now. This auction is the most responsible and practical path forward — a way to regain mobility and stability rather than starting from zero. I want to be honest: I’ve never done anything like this before. This is my first car, my first time dealing with a towing yard, my first auction — and my first time ever creating a GoFundMe. I’m nervous, but I’m also hopeful, and choosing to ask for community support instead of carrying this alone.
