Help bring Charlie the rescue dog to New Zealand

Meet Charlie, a street dog who is riding a motorbike back to New Zealand from Morocco.

I found her by herself and close to death on the street in Morocco while traveling on my motorbike back in 2021. I found her shivering, emaciated and covered in 100s of fleas. Without knowing, in that moment I had taken a huge step that would be both the most amazing, heart warming and difficult/mind-blowingly stressful thing I have ever done.

But it's all for a reason. It's for Charlie the dog I love more than anything.

We have spent the last 2 years completing the necessary steps and saving for the expenses of the final stage to be able to enter New Zealand. Unfortunately it's been a very bumpy road including a motorbike crash which near totaled by bike, followed by a car crash that same evening that sent me rolling down a mountain in a pickup truck and we have been pushed around by various governments in 4 countries across 8 months.

I have been fighting and using every avenue I could think of.

We have come to the point where the expenses are growing exponentially and my savings have been blown away with this all taking not only 8 months longer but having to repeat expensive steps.

Some of these final expenses I am facing in the next 2 months are

$7700 ($4600USD/€4350) for the Charlies' flight to NZ

Quarantine $1500 - $2000NZD+ ($920 - $1200USD+ /€830-€1110+)

Medical treatments, tests, exams, permits etc $4800NZD ($2870USD/€2660)

total cost approx $14200NZD ($8470USD €7850)

It is the flight and medical expenses I didn't anticipate. with charlies flight costing at least 7x the price of mine and having to pay a third party to handle the medical tests & treatments at an extortionate rate. I've tried for months to avoid paying these crazy prices but it just seems there is no way of avoiding these costs.

My real hope here is to be able to pay for the professionals to do this as without them I just can't get around the governments and hidden expenses.

This is where I am hoping for help. I’d love to be able to take a decent dent out of Charlies airfare. I’d love for us to get home. I don't know what the alternative is.
