My name is Robert Farquar and I never thought I’d be writing something like this. A few weeks ago, I packed up everything I had and drove 1,800 miles from Oklahoma for a job I was promised. I spent what little money I had just to make it out here, believing I was starting a new chapter in my life.
But as I was on the road, I found out the company gave my position away. I arrived here with nothing — no job, no place to stay, and no safety net. Right now, I’m sleeping in my car, hungry, and without money to get food or gas. I feel scared, lost, and so far away from home.
I’m asking for help so I can get back to Oklahoma, where I have family and some support to get back on my feet. Every dollar will go toward food, gas, and the trip home.
This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do — to ask strangers for help — but I truly don’t have anywhere else to turn. Even a small donation would make a huge difference in my life right now. And if you’re not able to give, sharing this with others would still mean so much.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read my story.
