Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
Let me tell you the tale of my dearly departed car, lovingly known as "The Little Engine That Usually Could." For a while, this trusty (but temperamental) four-wheeled companion faithfully carried me to work, school, and occasionally to the mechanic—where it also loved to empty my wallet faster than a Black Friday sale.
It squeaked, it rattled, and it coughed (a lot), but it was mine. Until one day, my beloved car decided that fixing it would cost more than it was worth. It went out in a blaze of... mediocrity. And here I am: carless, stranded, and trying to figure out how to get to work, school, and the rest of my life without resorting to rollerblades or a pogo stick.
And that’s where you come in!
I’m reaching out to ask for your help in raising funds to buy a new (well, new-to-me) car that will get me back on the road, back to work, back to school, and back to not waiting two hours for a bus that may or may not show up.
Why This Matters:
A car isn’t just about convenience for me—it’s about survival. It’s how I get to work to pay my bills and to school to build a better future. Without one, I’m left juggling impossible schedules, missed opportunities, and a lot of borrowed rides from very patient friends (thanks, guys).
What Your Support Will Do:
Your donation will go directly toward a reliable, fuel-efficient car that won’t drain my bank account at every oil change. I’m looking for something that runs on gas, not hopes and dreams—though both would be nice.
How You Can Help:
Donate (every little bit helps, seriously!)
Share this campaign with your network. The more people who see it, the closer I get to my goal.
In return, I promise to name my future car something amazing, like “Hope Mobile” or “Generosity Cruiser,” and to keep it far away from mechanics for as long as humanly possible.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, laugh at my misfortune, and, hopefully, lend a hand. Together, we can make sure my next car is a source of joy and not just a very expensive paperweight.
With gratitude and a touch of desperation,
Lara
